PRIVACY POLICY

Who we are

This policy explains how Batburn uses your personal information when you visit batburn.com, place an order, sign up to our emails, or contact us.

Batburn is run by Isaac Hughes, a sole trader trading as Batburn. We are the "data controller", which means we decide how and why your information is used.

You can contact us at id.batburn@gmail.com.

What information we collect

  • When you place an order: your name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number if you give one, and what you ordered. Payments are taken by our payment providers, and we do not see or store your full card details.

  • When you contact us: your name, email address, and the message you send through the contact form or by email.

  • When you sign up to our emails: your name and email address.

  • When you visit the website: information about your visit, such as your device, browser, approximate location, and the pages you view, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use your information

The law requires us to have a reason for using your information. Ours are:

  • To fulfil your order (contract): taking payment, sending your order, and keeping you updated about it, including any delay.

  • To answer your questions (legitimate interests): replying to messages and handling returns or complaints.

  • To send you marketing emails (your consent): only if you sign up, and you can withdraw consent at any time.

  • To understand and improve our website and advertising (your consent, through our cookie banner): seeing how people use the site and how our ads perform.

  • To keep records and meet legal duties (legal obligation): for example, accounting and tax records.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share your information only with companies that help us run Batburn, and only as far as they need it:

  • Wix, which hosts our website and runs our online store.

  • Payment providers, which process your payment.

  • Delivery companies, which need your name, address and, sometimes, phone number or email to deliver your order.

  • Analytics and advertising services, such as Google and Meta, which receive information about how you use the site if you accept cookies.

  • Our email provider, if we use one to send emails you have signed up for.

We may also share information if the law requires it, for example to respond to a request from a public authority.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. Some are essential, for example to keep items in your basket and to make checkout work. Others help us measure how the site is used and how our ads perform, and may be set by Wix, Google and Meta.

When you first visit, a cookie banner asks whether you accept non-essential cookies. We only use those if you accept. You can change your choice at any time through the banner settings, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

Marketing emails

We only send marketing emails, such as news about new releases and drops, to people who have signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing id.batburn@gmail.com or by using the unsubscribe link in our emails.

We will still email you about your order, even if you have unsubscribed from marketing.

How long we keep your information

We keep order and payment records for 6 years, as UK tax and accounting rules require. We keep messages you send us for as long as needed to deal with them, and usually no longer than 2 years afterwards. We keep your email on our mailing list until you unsubscribe, then remove it from our marketing list.

Sending information outside the UK

Some of the companies we use, such as Wix, Google and Meta, are based outside the UK or store data in other countries. When your information is sent abroad, we rely on the safeguards these companies use to protect it, such as approved data transfer agreements. Orders shipped to other countries also require us to share your delivery details with carriers there.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to:

  • show you the personal information we hold about you

  • correct information that is wrong

  • delete your information, where the law allows

  • limit or stop how we use it

  • give you a copy of it in a portable format

You can also withdraw your consent to marketing or non-essential cookies at any time. To use any of these rights, email id.batburn@gmail.com. We will reply within one month.

Complaints and changes

If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, please contact us first at id.batburn@gmail.com so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page. Last updated: 20 October 2026.
